Our Story

Set in the scenic Kararwala village, Doon Sr. Sec. Public School, founded in 2003, is synonymous with educational excellence and all-round development. DSSPS is a CBSE-affiliated school, one of the first of its kind in Kararwala. The school embodies the philanthropic vision of Sardar Gamdur Singh Dhillon and his wife, Sardarni Charanjit Kaur Dhillon’s, aspiration to blend traditional Indian education with modern teaching techniques.

After dedicating nearly three decades of his life to the Punjab Forest Services, Sardar Gamdur Singh Dhillon retired in 2014. His zeal to serve society made him devote himself to the school as its lifetime chairman. Sardarni Charanjit Kaur Dhillon, who manages the institution, is a pioneering role model in establishing play-way schools in Bathinda City, underscoring her significant contribution to education.

The school, initially known as Doon Playway and Preparatory School, was established by Sardarni Charanjit Kaur Dhillon in 1993 in Bathinda City. Over time, the vision expanded to include providing education to children in rural areas. As such, the school was relocated to Kararwala, Sardar Gamdur Singh Dhillon’s ancestral village.

Doon Sr. Sec. Public School’s innovative approach prepares students for modern-world challenges while being firmly ingrained in their roots. The school’s environment fosters curiosity, creativity, and compassion, nurturing its students to not only excel academically but also to develop skills that will serve them throughout their lives. Regular involvement in social initiatives and community outreach programs instils a sense of social responsibility in students from a young age. As the school continues to evolve and grow, it remains steadfast in its commitment to its founding principles, ensuring that the legacy of Sardar Gamdur Singh Dhillon and Sardarni Charanjit Kaur Dhillon endures.
